About the Opportunity

We are expanding our accounting team and are hiring for two key roles:

  1. Accountant (Tax & Compliance) – a technically strong, independent professional
  2. Assistant Accountant / Admin – a highly organised support specialist

Both roles work closely with the Partner and internal team to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality accounting services across a diverse client base.

This is a structured, systems-driven environment with minimal client interaction, ideal for candidates who enjoy focusing on technical work and internal delivery.

Role 1: Accountant (Tax & Compliance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Prepare financial statements for all entity types
  • Complete BAS, IAS, FBT, and SMSF compliance work
  • Conduct tax research and draft technical advice
  • Identify risks, issues, and tax planning opportunities
  • Support system migration from MYOB AO to Xero Practice Manager
  • Maintain audit-ready working papers and structured files

Requirements

  • 3+ years in public practice accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation
  • Experience with Xero / Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
  • MYOB AO experience (desirable)
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Role 2: Assistant Accountant / Administration

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping in Xero (bank recs, general ledger maintenance)
  • Process payroll, including STP and superannuation
  • Prepare BAS and assist with compliance work
  • Support accountants with job preparation and documentation
  • Follow up on missing client information
  • Assist in MYOB AO → Xero XPM data migration
  • Maintain organised client files in OneDrive / SharePoint
  • Support onboarding and administrative processes

Requirements

  • 1–3 years in bookkeeping or accounting support
  • Experience with Xero and payroll processing
  • Understanding of BAS and compliance basics
  • Strong organisational and data accuracy skills
  • Responsive, reliable, and able to follow structured workflows
