Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Plantation Island Resort is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer to support the resort’s financial operations and Head Office reporting requirements. The role is responsible for accurately processing financial transactions, reconciliations, cashiering duties, and other property-based financial functions in line with company policies and procedures.

The Finance Officer ensures timely and accurate financial processing to support smooth resort operations, maintain strong internal controls, and uphold financial integrity across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Complete daily banking and mail bag run preparation for dispatch

·        Open incoming daily mail bag and distribute contents accordingly

·        Reconciliation of medical clinic employee and guest invoices

·        Preparation of daily Flash Report in a timely manner

·        Printing of staff list for staff canteen meal service

·        Daily update of foreign currency exchange rates in Room Master and our guest Foreign Currency Exchange rate board

·        Issuing and filing of Boat Transfer Orders for staff, management, tradesmen and TNC

·        Prepare and submit the daily Adjustments Report

·        Prepare the guest FOC water monthly reconciliation

·        Collect and reconcile laundry machine tokens

·        Preparation of Lexmee Surf bookings summary

·        Preparation of Apisai Masi boat transfers summary

·        Complete spot checks on cash floats

·        Complete daily credit card reconciliation

·        Complete daily City Ledger reconciliation and forward to Head Office

·        Monitor daily and follow up on unsettled folios

·        Complete weekly payroll preparation for Head Office Payroll processing, including running of Loranka reports, compilation and submission of employee leave forms, collation of signed time-cards from each department, and cross-checking time card submitted for every employee

·        Print and distribute weekly pay-slips, ensuring employee payroll information confidentiality is retained

·        Reconcile contractor staff meals, retail and consumption accounts

·        Reconcile daily Day Tripper charges

·        Issue Malolo Cat passes for staff per contracted entitlements

·        Any other ad hoc finance related tasks as requested by Head Office Finance department

·        Monitor and track days off for salaried staff weekly

·        Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

Experience true work-life balance in paradise.

·        Tertiary qualification in Finance or a related field is preferred

·        Previous experience working in a finance department in a resort or hotel is preferred

·        Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting practices required

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and preferably working knowledge of Room-master

·        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·        Accuracy in data entry and accounting practices
