About the Role The accountant is responsible for completing financial transactions, accounting and audit procedures for their allocated business unit, in compliance with company policy, systems and procedures. These duties will include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashbook, Payroll, and assisting in preparation of monthly management accounts and final accounts.

 Key Responsibilities:

·        Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, customer billings, collections, and maintenance of ageing targets in accordance with company procedures.

·        Oversee inventory control processes, including accurate recording of inventory receipts, stock usage postings, month-end stocktakes, and maintenance of inventory records.

·        Maintain the Fixed Asset Register by accurately recording asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and ensuring all asset replacements are supported by approved documentation.

·        Administer weekly payroll processing, ensuring accurate timesheet entry, leave record management, timely banking of wages, and distribution of payslips in accordance with payroll schedules.

·        Perform banking and cash book functions, including verification of receipts and payments, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, and ensuring the integrity of financial records.

·        Support the preparation of management accounts, financial reports, audits, stocktakes, and year-end financial statements, while providing assistance with all other finance-related duties as directed by management.

What We’re Looking For:

·        Tertiary qualification in Finance or a related field is preferred

·        Previous experience working in a finance department in a resort or hotel is preferred

·        Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and financial accounting practices required

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and preferably working knowledge of SAGE and Opera

·        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·        Accuracy in data entry and accounting practices
