The Role 

Pepper Advantage is seeking a Risk Analyst to support the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks that may impact the organisation's operations, objectives, and ability to meet client needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company's risk management framework, ensuring effective risk reporting, and assisting with risk-related initiatives across the business, while reporting to the Chief Legal Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organisation maintains a risk management framework and policy that is aligned with its business strategy, risk profile, operational requirements, and overall corporate governance standards.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of the organisation's Risk Appetite Statement, ensuring risk appetite is effectively communicated across the business and reflected in risk reporting
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and maintain the organisation's Risk Matrix and risk registers
  • Ensure key risks are identified, assessed, documented, and regularly reviewed within business unit risk records.
  • Work with functional leaders to establish appropriate quantitative and qualitative risk measures, thresholds, and controls in line with the approved Risk Appetite Statement.
  • Coordinate and manage external advisors and auditors in the execution of the Internal Audit Plan.
  • Support internal audit activities by ensuring a risk-based audit approach is applied and that potential gaps in the risk management framework are identified and addressed.
  • Utilise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems to support risk management activities and provide training and guidance to business users as required.
  • Facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) across the organisation using the GRC platform.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen risk management processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Participate in the review of internal audit findings, incidents, and control assessments to identify existing and emerging risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies

Skills and experience required:

  • Candidate needs to be flexible in terms of working hours (Ideally from 8 pm to 4.30 am FJT).
  • Higher education preferably in Law or Business Administration
  • Further training in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field (applied finance, economics)
  • Advanced level of office tools (Microsoft Office, Open Office or similar)
  • Experience 3 to 5+ years of experience in similar positions and very valuable experience in the financial services sector
  • Experience with complex financial analysis used in decision making
  • Knowledge of financial products and services as well as the regulatory framework and the risks faced by financial corporations
  • Risk management, analysis, problem solving, critical thinking and decision making
  • High planning and organization capacity
  • Social skills - good communication, to establish quality relationships with internal and external interlocutors
  • Autonomy to work autonomously and ability to solve problems
  • Flexibility and adaptability in changing environments
