The Opportunity

The Group Manager, Campus Life will play a pivotal leadership role in enhancing the student experience across the University, with a particular focus on fostering community, wellbeing, inclusion and belonging.

 As USP advances its institutional transformation under the USP Investment Plan 2025 to 2027, this role is critical in delivering on our commitment to student centricity. This includes supporting students not only at Laucala, but also across our regional campuses, online environments, and increasingly from international locations beyond the Pacific. The appointee will be expected to respond to the diverse realities of USP students - from first-in-family undergraduates to mature learners, from campus residents to remote students and from all twelve Pacific member countries and beyond.

Specific Duties

This is not a “business as usual” role. It requires cultural fluency, emotional intelligence, and the ability to shape inclusive services that reflect the lived experiences of our region and our growing international student body. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering student support functions including:

  • Residential and campus life
  • Disability Support
  • Careers Services
  • Student University transition support
  • Health and medical services
  • Counselling and wellbeing
  • Chaplaincy and multi faith inclusion
  • Sport, recreation and cultural activities

Key Focus Areas

  • Student Experience Transformation: Drive initiatives that make campuses more welcoming, supportive and aligned to student life both in person and online.
  • Responding to Student Realities: Build systems and insights that reflect the varying circumstances and needs of students including regionality, gender, learning mode, age, disability and financial background.
  • Regional Inclusivity: Ensure services and events reflect the cultural traditions, languages and aspirations of all USP member countries, not just those based at Laucala.
  • Wellbeing and Belonging: Promote an environment of holistic wellbeing, connection and safety, with targeted support for at risk or underrepresented groups.
  • Innovation and Equity in Service Delivery: Strengthen access to student services across regional campuses and in remote settings using flexible and blended approaches where possible.
  • Partnership and Engagement: Work across departments and campuses to embed student voice, co design inclusive activities and foster community and alumni connections.

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A degree and a Postgraduate qualification in relevant discipline; and
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience and proven management expertise;
  • A strong commitment to student wellbeing, equity and institutional transformation;
  • Deep understanding of the diversity of USP students and the lived experiences across the region;
  • Cultural fluency and empathy in engaging across regional identities, languages and traditions;
  • The ability to lead inclusive multidisciplinary teams and work collaboratively across units;
  • A proactive and solutions focused approach aligned with USP’s strategic direction.

The position is available for a term of three years and renewal.

Salary Range

  • FJD 103,576.55 to FJD 126,885.72 per annum.
