CLASS 3 ENGINEER

SSCG operates a modern fleet of fast catamarans, an overnight cruise ship, a modern sailing catamaran, an array of smaller vessels. SSCG also operates Fiji’s two most popular day trip islands.

The Class 3 Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair and efficient operation of the vessels machinery and equipment.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Class 3 Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair and efficient operation of the vessels machinery and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and maintain all main engines, generators, pumps etc.
• Perform regular checks of all machinery spaces, including bilges, voids etc. to ensure they are clean, dry and free from hazards
• Carry out general R&M works
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during voyages and coordinate with the operations and workshop team for any major repairs or replacements.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant valid COC and associated short courses
• At least 2 years of experience in the above roles
• Strong leadership skills and good decision making abilities
