Joiner

Fiji Gateway Hotel is seeking a skilled and reliable Joiner to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for carrying out joinery and carpentry work across the hotel, including repairing and maintaining furniture, doors, cabinets, fittings, and other timber structures to ensure all guest and staff areas are kept in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship while supporting a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for guests and team members.

Key Duties Include:

• Design and construct a wide variety of fixtures and fittings for installation across the resort
• Safely use woodworking machinery and tools to cut and shape wood
• Construct doors, windows and other frames from timber
• Construct shelving units, cabinets and cupboards
• Construct doors, gates and staircase rails
• Repair and maintain doors, door frames, windows etc
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislations
• Assist carpenters with construction and installation as required
• Care and maintain woodwork tools and machinery, ensuring all tools and equipment are securely stored during breaks and at the end of each day
• Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years practical trade experience
• Hold a relevant trade qualification
• Demonstrated understanding of OHS and workplace safety specifically related to the trade
• Good communication skills and teamwork
• Demonstrated understanding of widely used and specialist joinery and carpentry tools
