Night Auditor

The Night Auditor at Plantation Island Resort is responsible for managing front office operations during the overnight shift while ensuring all daily financial transactions are accurately balanced and recorded. The role plays a key part in maintaining smooth resort operations, guest satisfaction, and security throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Audit and balance all revenue transactions from front office AM and PM shifts

·         Verify and balance daily charges for all departments to guest folios, master accounts and house accounts, making corrections as necessary

·         Audit food and beverage and miscellaneous departments income posting and charges

·         Record and balance all food and beverage income

·         Balance the guest ledger postings to the restaurant and guest ledger

·         Record and balance staff and house charges

·         Audit all banquet charges before posting, verifying the accuracy of the calculations and attaching the final event order

·         Check and process all city ledger work to forward to Finance department

·         Check all accommodation and package charges are correct before processing daily charges

·         Balance the rooms audit with the night audit summary

·         Balance cash tills, room charges and credit card transactions

·         Settle credit card machines daily

·         Run computer nightly processing sequence to reset for the new day’s use in balancing of applicable functions

·         File all room charge dockets per SOP to ensure quick location in the event of a guest query

·         Run new day reports for operating departments to ensure accurate guest in-house, arrival and departure lists are provided in a timely manner

·         Book services such as babysitting and taxis as requested by guests

·         Handle switchboard operations during night-shift hours

·         Schedule guest wake-up calls and complete as scheduled

·         Provide front desk coverage including handling guest account settlement and guest queries

·         Prepare guest accounts for check-out

·         Initiate emergency response team as required in the event of an emergency

·         Monitor national and international disaster warnings

·         Maintain security of all cash takings and tills at all times, following company procedure

·         Escalate transaction/revenue discrepancies identified to the Front Office Manager

·         Ensure relevant guest information is communicated to the appropriate departments

·         Maintain current knowledge of local information and tourist attractions

·         Maintain current knowledge of hotel/resort facilities and dining options to be able to make recommendations

·         Maintain confidentiality and security of guest information

·         Any other duty as reasonably requested by your manager

About You:

·        Excellent English communication skills, written and oral

·        Excellent working knowledge of Excel

·        Previous night audit or accounts experience in a busy, medium or large size resort or hotel

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to empathize

·        Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and good understanding of accounting practices

·        Ability to work with minimal supervision, and confidence to handle guest interactions during night shift operation
