Mechanic(Ministry of Forestry)

This position is responsible for the general repair and maintenance of vehicles, heavy machines, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Undertake general repair, maintenance and reconditioning works on all motorized transport and machinery under supervision.

2.Provide necessary advice, diagnosis and estimates of proper maintenance of vehicle, tractor, machinery, plants and mechanical assets of the project.

3.Organize material and manpower to carryout assigned work in a methodical and professional manner ensuring safety standards are met.

4.Provide requests for purchase and assist in procurement of correct parts.

5.Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records and submit weekly reports of work undertaken and status of vehicles and machines under repair

6.Maintain assets and inventory records of all tools, equipment and parts under the project.

7.Perform driving duties when required and adhere to the Transport Policy

Knowledge & Experience

1. 1. Have at least 2 years automotive mechanical experience
2. 2. Experience in repair of heavy machinery and hydraulic systems

Skills & Abilities

1. 1. Able to follow instruction and work under minimal supervision
2. 2. Able to communicate clearly and work well with others
3. 3. Able to plan and organise work activities to meet timelines
4. 4. Able to maintain records and write maintenance reports
5. 5. Skills to operate forestry machines
6. 6. Valid group 2, 6, 9 driving license and defensive driving certificate
