Housekeeping Attendant

Fiji Gateway Hotel is seeking a dedicated and reliable Housekeeping Attendant to join our housekeeping team. This role supports the housekeeping operations by maintaining cleanliness of public areas, assisting room attendants, and ensuring a high standard of presentation throughout the hotel. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to assist where needed are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Assist with counting out, bagging and delivery of linen to guest rooms or bures or maid stations, ensuring prompt delivery to enable timely cleaning of rooms or bures

·        Prompt collection of used linen from rooms/bures/floor collection stations, and delivery to laundry for processing

·        Assist in counting used linen, bagging for laundry processing and transfer of used linen from laundry to jetty (PIR/LIR only)

·        Assist in collection and transfer of incoming clean linen bags from jetty to laundry (PIR/LIR only)

·        Assist Room Attendants with room cleaning tasks as required such as cleaning of fans and other high areas of the room and moving of heavy furniture

·        Deliver baby cots and rollaway beds to guest rooms or bures per guest reservation requirements or special requests

·        Assist with deep cleaning or spring cleaning tasks in guest rooms or bures and public areas

·        Assist with cleaning and appearance of housekeeping back of house areas

·        Collect guest laundry for processing and return processed laundry to guest rooms

·        Ensure consistency in cleaning methods and guest room appearance and hygiene by following company standard operating procedures for housekeeping at all times

·        Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

About You:

·        Attention to detail

·        Accuracy in counting with good numerical skills

·        Team player

·        Current Driver’s license preferable

·        Physically able to load and unload heavy bags of clean and dirty linen, move furniture and complete deep cleaning tasks

·        Understands basic principles of safe chemical handling and health and safety in the workplace

·        Effective communication skills including written English

·        Demonstrates effective time management
