Serenader- High Season

Fiji Gateway Hotel is seeking a talented and engaging Serenader to provide live musical entertainment and enhance the guest experience. A friendly personality, strong performance skills, and the ability to connect with guests are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Provide musical entertainment including singing and playing the guitar or ukulele, as required around the hotel to entertain guests and enhance the environment and guest experience

·        Retain a wide repertoire of Fijian and popular songs, regularly updating your repertoire to add songs

·        Engage with guests to enhance their experience, delivering special request songs, Happy Birthday etc

·        Adapt the volume and songs played to the tone of the location you are singing (eg. Arrival vs back-ground music in the restaurant)

·        Sing with passion and genuine enjoyment at all times, encouraging guests and other staff to join in where appropriate

·        Be present at key arrival and departure times to sing Bula Malaya and Isa Lei, ensuring a high proportion of guests experience these well-known Fiji traditions

·        Provide entertainment at weddings or other in-house events or functions as booked

·        Lead staff and guests in recognizing birthdays and other special occasions

·        Assist Food & Beverage at peak operational times, in completing basic tasks in these areas such as table clearance if required

·        Take care of your health and voice so that you are able to complete your rostered shifts

·        Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

About You:

·        Good guitar playing ability, can play solo or as part of a duo or group

·        Wide repertoire of Fijian and English traditional and popular songs

·        Strong singing voice, able to sing solo or with others

·        Good communication skills with ability to connect with guests and entertain
