The primary responsibility of the position is to provide driving and support service for the Ministry in a timely, safe and courteous manner. Undertaking messenger duties and providing general assistance and support related to efficient operation of the Ministry. In addition to driving and messenger duties, the incumbent is responsible in maintaining the cleanliness of the office.
1. Transports Ministry and authorized staff to/from official meetings, seminars, workshops and functions and carrying out other driving instructions;
2. Cleans vehicle and checks for such essentials as fuel, oil, water and tyre pressure and makes entries in log booking concerning trips, purpose of same, mileage, fuel and any delays occurring on roads.
3. Comply with the Government Transport Regulations and report any vehicle irregularities to immediate Supervisor
4. Ensure that the vehicle running sheets are recorded and updated on a daily basis with the relevant authorizing signatures.
5. Collections and delivery of mail as required from post office, government agencies and other institutions.
