The Senior Scientific Officer (Monitoring and Compliance) is responsible for collating and reporting energy and climate related data and targets outlined in the National Energy Policy, National Determined Constributions and other national, regional and international planning documents.
The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:
1. Data Collection: Ensure the timely and collation of energy consumption data and targets from relevant key agencies and stakeholders
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Provide regular report updates, technical briefs on the renewable energy targets and consumption
3. Coordination & Liaison: Collaborate with EFL, Bureau of Statistics, Fiji Revenue and Customs, FCCC, private sectors other government ministries, and relevant organizations on energy consumption data
4. Establishing Energy Database Setting up of a robust, user-friendly energy database to store, data management and safekeep of energy consumption data across all sectors in the country
5. Performance Management: Develop, implement, and review performance indicators and compliance checklists to ensure ongoing project quality assurance.
