Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Responsible for recruiting, developing, and managing human intelligence sources to collect information on narcotics, trafficking networks, illicit finance, and related crimes; evaluating the reliability of sources and accuracy of information; and producing actionable intelligence reports to support CNB investigations and operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:

1. Collect, assess, and corroborate intelligence to ensure accuracy, reliability, and operational relevance.

2. Recruit, handle, and protect informants while supervising agents to maximize intelligence collection.

3. Classify, prepare, and deliver intelligence reports to commanders and stakeholders in a timely manner.

4. Safeguard sources, information, and databases, ensuring strict compliance with security and confidentiality protocols

 

 

Knowledge & Experience

  1. 1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in intelligence, policing, or investigative work.
  2. 2. Strong knowledge of the intelligence cycle, including collection, validation, reporting, and dissemination.
  3. 3. Understanding of ethical recruitment, management, and protection of informants and agents.
  4. 4. Familiarity with narcotics supply chains, trafficking methods, and criminal group structures.

 

Skills & Abilities

  1. 1. Ability to assess source reliability, grade intelligence, and prepare accurate reports.
  2. 2. Skilled in conducting covert surveillance and discreet inquiries to gather actionable intelligence.
  3. 3. Strong commitment to safeguarding sources, maintaining security protocols, and practicing CNB’s Trust Behaviours.
  4. 4. Capable of supporting CNB operations with timely intelligence while responsibly managing equipment and property.

 

Additional Information

All applicants for employment in the Ministry of Policing must be of good character, with a background that demonstrates their commitment to the civil service values contained in the Fijian Constitution. Applicants must also be a Fijian Citizen, under the age 60 years, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicants will be required to provide a medical and police clearance, prior to taking up duty as a condition of employment.
