Information Management System Programmer ( Ministry of Policing and Communication Website)

To design, develop, and maintain secure information management systems that support CNB intelligence, investigations, and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:

1. Lead the planning, architecture, and implementation of IT systems, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.

2. Safeguard sensitive information through robust security protocols, compliance with standards, and proactive risk management.

3. Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, while managing system updates and enhancements to maintain optimal performance.

4. Provide frontline assistance, training, and documentation to empower users and improve adoption of systems and tools.

Knowledge & Experience

1. 1. Have 3 years practical experience in designing, coding, and maintaining robust data systems.
2. 2. Knowledge in conformity to secure platforms tailored to intelligence and operational environments.
3. 3. Hands-on work building and sustaining intelligence databases for operational use.
4. 4. Understanding how technology supports organizational goals and compliance requirements.

Skills & Abilities

1. 1. Ability to apply advanced protection techniques to safeguard sensitive information.
2. 2. Skilled at diagnosing and resolving programming or software issues under pressure.
3. 3. Strong communication skills to guide end users and build confidence in system use.
4. 4. Capacity to upgrade systems, integrate new tools, and evolve with emerging technologies.

Additional Information

All applicants for employment in the Ministry of Policing must be of good character, with a background that demonstrates their commitment to the civil service values contained in the Fijian Constitution. Applicants must also be a Fijian Citizen, under the age 60 years, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicants will be required to provide a medical and police clearance, prior to taking up duty as a condition of employment.
