CHIEF TRAINING OFFICER (Ministry of Policing and Communication)

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

To provide leadership and oversight of CNB’s training and capacity-building programs, ensuring personnel are equipped with the skills required to effectively combat narcotics.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:

1. Provide vision, direction, and oversight for training programs to align with organizational goals.

2. Ensure training content is relevant, structured, and responsive to evolving needs.

3. Quality Assurance in Training Delivery: Monitor, evaluate, and improve training standards to maintain effectiveness and compliance.

4. Support professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and continuous capacity building

 

 

 

Knowledge & Experience

  1. 1. At least 10 years work experience in designing and implementing training strategies that meet organizational and operational needs.
  2. 2. Knowledge of competency-based training models and curriculum development processes.
  3. 3. Background in coordinating training across multiple units, partners, and stakeholder groups.
  4. 4. Experience in building partnerships with external training institutions and aligning programs with global best practices

 

Skills & Abilities

  1. 1. Ability to provide direction, set priorities, and align training initiatives with CNB’s mission.
  2. 2. Skill in assessing training outcomes, analysing feedback, and recommending improvements.
  3. 3. Strong interpersonal skills to guide staff, foster professional growth, and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  4. 4. Capacity to respond to evolving training needs and adjust strategies to ensure relevance and impact.

 

Additional Information

All applicants for employment in the Ministry of Policing must be of good character, with a background that demonstrates their commitment to the civil service values contained in the Fijian Constitution. Applicants must also be a Fijian Citizen, under the age 60 years, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicants will be required to provide a medical and police clearance, prior to taking up duty as a condition of employment.
