MARINE OUTBOARD TECHNICIAN

ROLE OVERVIEW

The position is responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of outboard engines and associated marine systems.  The role ensures that vessels and marine equipment operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with manufacturer standards and maritime safety requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and manage the repair and maintenance across all service jobs and balance
• the constraints of time, budget and staff assigned.
• Be able to allocate the right parts and service kits
• Be able to prioritise and re-prioritise service jobs based on any number of changing factors
• Quote and manage insurance jobs if required.
• Management of critical and service parts levels for services jobs:

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified Technician/Marine Mechanic 3+ years’ experience on 2 and 4 stroke engines
• Demonstrated experience in working in a similar business (marine outboard servicing)
• Ability to understand service requirements as per manufacturers guidelines and
• specifications
• Ability to diagnose issues and provide supervision and hands-on repairs
• Natural ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
