The Opportunity

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the premier tertiary institution in the Pacific region. The Estates and Infrastructure Services is responsible for the management and strategic oversight of the University’s property, buildings and infrastructure at all campuses and centers throughout its 12 member countries. The sections responsibilities include Strategic Asset Management, Maintenance Services, Design and Project Management Services, as well as Occupational Health, Safety, Sustainability and DISMAC Services.

The Manager Security Services is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of campus security services across all USP campuses and centers. This includes oversight of physical security operations, emergency response, incident management, and coordination of security personnel and contractors. The role ensures a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors, aligned with USP's Security Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A degree and a postgraduate qualification in Security Management, Risk Management, or related field; and
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience and proven management expertise; or
  • A bachelor's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, or related field with 10 years of experience, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity;
  • Experience managing multi-site security operations and service contracts;
  • Strong understanding of campus security operations and emergency response;
  • Excellent team leadership and coordination skills;
  • Proficiency in surveillance systems, incident reporting tools, and SOP implementation;
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement;
  • Familiarity with Pacific region operational contexts is desirable.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

  • FJ$81,690 to FJ$100,073per annum
