Clerical Officer Busfare – Lautoka (Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation)

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

This position is responsible to assist the Managers in the implementation of the busfare program through maintaining proper records, timely processing of applications & generating ID cards , and providing reports and records to Headquarters Clerical officer. 

Key Responsibilities

The position will achieve its purpose through the following key responsibilities:

1. Provide support and assistance towards the implementation of the busfare program at the district level.

2. Update and maintain central database. District level Clerical officers provide timely records and HQ officers verify and maintain the records.

3. Attend to and maintain the records of customer complaints and feedback.

4. Generate Ministry ID card for eligible busfare assistance beneficiaries.

5. Reconcile Ministry dataset against the e-transport top up card records.

6. Prepare and submit reports on agreed timelines.

7. Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, including 

Knowledge & Experience

  1. At least 1 year of relevant administrative, financial or clerical work experience preferred;
  2. Demonstrated good knowledge and experience on the use of basic Microsoft office programs;
  3. Willingness to learn and participate in discussions towards improved service delivery;
  4. Demonstrated experience in using electronic devices like scanners, Laminating machines, and printers;
  5. Familiar with handling customer queries and providing feedbacks.

  1. Demonstrated ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous requests at one time;
  2. Demonstrated Teamwork and Team-oriented attitude;
  3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills;
  4. Demonstrated analytical skills to compare data, reconcile and provide a report;
  5. Demonstrated ability to follow guidelines and provide advice;
  6. Thoroughness with ability to work quickly and accurately.

Additional Information

Applicants for employment must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 60, in sound health, with a clear police record.
