Carpenters Shipping - Senior Accounts Officer - Nadi

Carpenters Shipping is a well-established shipping & forwarding Agency and heavy transport and logistics business. We are seeking to employ an experienced and a proactive individual for the Senior Accounts Officer role to be based in Nadi.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Supervise and support accounts staff and operations team, providing guidance and reviewing work.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure timely bank, supplier, and intercompany reconciliations
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and cost controls across departments
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements in Fiji
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
• Review payroll, tax filings, and statutory deductions for accuracy and compliance
• Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support decision-making
• Assist in process improvements and implementation of internal controls

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) or working toward one is preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
• Experience working with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure
