The position will implement a wide range of strategic communication and media initiatives that promote the iTaukei Institutions Reform Team’s objectives and progress. This role will lead the development and execution of communication strategies to inform, engage, and collaborate with key stakeholders, including iTaukei communities, government agencies, and the general public. The position requires strategic thinking, creativity, and a hands-on approach to communication management.
The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:
1. Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans that promote the goals and initiatives of the iTaukei institutional reforms.
2. Content Production: Prepare and distribute clear, culturally appropriate, and engaging communication materials including press releases, briefing notes, digital content, and community messages tailored to target audiences.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as iTaukei communities, government entities, partner organizations, and media outlets to foster collaboration and support.
4. Outreach Coordination: Organize and coordinate outreach and awareness activities in partnership with relevant agencies to maximize the reach and impact of communication efforts.
5. Media Relations: Manage interactions with media by drafting press releases, responding to inquiries, and organizing press events to enhance public awareness and positive perception of the
reforms.
6. Public Perception Monitoring: Monitor community and public feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust messaging as necessary to address concerns and improve engagement.
7. Internal Communication: Facilitate effective information flow within the team and related departments to ensure alignment and coherence in messaging.
8. Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure all communication respects and reflects the cultural nuances and sensitivities of the iTaukei community.
