The Technical Officer (Estimates) will support the implementation of the iTaukei Resource Owners Support and Development Fund by providing accurate cost estimates, financial analysis, and technical support for land and resource-based projects. Reporting to the Senior Quantitative Surveyor, the officer will play a vital role in ensuring project feasibility, budgeting accuracy, and financial accountability within the programs of the Project Management Unit (PMU).
1. Prepare, review, and analyze detailed cost estimates and budgets for land development and resource-based ventures in line with project requirements and standards.
2. Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project teams to gather technical data and ensure accurate costing aligned with project scope and objectives.
3. Support the assessment of project financial viability by providing estimates that consider land measurement, survey data, and resource valuation.
4. Assist in developing financial models and resource utilization plans to promote sustainable and economically viable projects.
5. Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, reports, and technical submissions related to costs, budgets, and financial forecasts.
6. Work closely with the Senior Quantitative Surveyor to ensure estimates comply with regulatory standards, funding guidelines, and best practices.
7. Support capacity building activities, including mentoring junior staff and partners on estimation techniques and financial best practices.2
8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation processes and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
