The position is responsible for efficiently and effectively facilitating procurement processes, conducting analysis, providing policy guidance, and reviewing data to deliver informed recommendations that support and enhance the Ministry’s operational procurement performance
1. Facilitate tender evaluations and provide expert guidance on best practice tendering processes to ensure the achievement of best value for money.
2. Support the development, review, and effective implementation of procurement plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and policies to ensure alignment with financial management processes.
3. Oversee the efficient delivery of procurement services by ensuring timely decision-making and effective coordination with functional divisions.
4. Prepare and evaluate reports to support the effective management of tender performance, including tracking cost-benefit analyses and assessing value for money.
5. Proactively manage and monitor contracts to ensure that the government receives the full value agreed upon during the tender process.
6. Design and deliver internal training programs for staff on government procurement practices and related topics.
7. Coordinate the timely submission of reports, planning documents, and returns in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
8. Actively contribute to broader corporate goals, take on additional responsibilities as directed by senior management, and adhere to financial and human resource management guidelines, budgeting processes, policy development, and regulatory frameworks, while consistently upholding integrity and professional standards in all areas of work.
