The primary purpose of this position is to provide mechanical repair works in the workshop to support the operation of the Division
The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:
1. Attend to major repairs, maintenance and routine mechanical servicing of light vehicles, plants and heavy machineries including welding and panel beating works.
2. Maintain inventory level of spare parts, tools, equipment and ensuring adequate supply workshop operations.
3. Assist in regular inspection and quality checks on light vehicles, plants and heavy machineries to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
4. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical guidance and support when needed.
5. Provide relevant reports and update on all mechanical repairs and procurement at the Workshop.
6. Assist in market research and spare parts identification that is quality to use when procured.
7. Promote full adherence of Occupational Health & Safety at the Workshop area.
8. Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, Cleanliness of Office Stations, Workshop and Compound, attend to Ad hoc requests from Senior Executive Management,
Ministerial Events and Functions, business process improvements (smart work methods) where required.
Applicants for employment must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 60, in sound health, with a clear police record. The successful applicant will be required to provide a medical certificate and police clearance as a condition of employment for substantive appointment.
