The Manager Projects is responsible for managing multiple projects to ensure successful delivery of the Ministry’s strategic objectives and goals. The position provides advice and project management approaches and updates to the Director Multi-Ethnic Affairs within the project scope, timeframes and budgetary framework using the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) guidelines. The role involves coordinating the Ministry’s resources, monitoring and evaluating capital projects through close liaisons with implementing agencies, manage stakeholder expectations, mitigate risk management, and includes supervising a high-performing project team for timely and accurate progress reports.
1. Manage the development, execution and delivery of medium-term Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) and capital budget using PSIP guidelines as per approved timelines that support the Ministry’s objectives.
2. Ensure Ministry’s corporate plan focuses on key programs and activities that highlight development objectives and governance related to Multi-Ethnic affairs, culture, social cohesion, by effectively coordinating monitoring and evaluating capital projects through stakeholder collaborations and engagements that align with set objectives and contribute to the Ministry’s strategic direction.
3. Collaborate with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, development partners, community leaders and civil society to represent the Ministry on national, interdepartmental and special interest committees at meetings and forums.
4. Manage in project risk and develop mitigation strategies for effective management of the Ministry’s projects, to facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution best practices.
5. Prepare and present quarterly QPPR and other report documentation and updates to the Permanent Secretary on project progress, decisions and challenges to review and conduct audits and compliance checks.
6. Manage, coordinate and mentor staff, to ensure effective execution and delivery or ministry’s annual corporate plan and divisional business plan high-quality research and policy analysis.
7. Responsible for coaching and capacity-building support to staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to optimize resource utilization and manage project team performance that enhances the Ministry’s budget and resource management.
8. Undertake other duties and activities as assigned by higher authority that may be necessary to further the execution of the ministry’s developmental agenda.
