MANAGER ELECTRICAL SERVICES GENERATION

The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Navutu Depot and will report to the General Manager Generation

Key Objective:

The position reports directly to the General Manager Generation and the incumbent will be required to take ownership of Electrical Systems at EFL’s Power Stations and ensure it is maintained & operating safely, efficiently and economically. Manage Engineers who also manage various Generation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all Electrical operations and maintenance activities of power station equipment and plants;
• Ensure the Operations electrical expenditure for these stations are within approved budgetary limits including the management of overtime, hiring of additional labour etc ;
• Ensure proper financial treatment of any supplementary electrical operational work;
• Ensure prudent inventory management and control of all electrical spares for generators and plants;
• Show prudence and diligence when procuring services and goods on behalf of EFL in line with EFL Procurement policy and within the Financial approval limits;
• Ensure compliance to EFL’s OHS and Safety policies for all power station electrical operational activities;
• Preparation of yearly budgets and maintenance plans for all electrical activities in power stations;
• Ensure continual improvement in electrical operational activities for increased productivity increased efficiency and a high standard of Asset management;
• Carry out any other work as required by the General Manager Generation.

Key Requirements

• The incumbent should have a Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution with at least eight (8) years’ Hydro/Diesel operational experience in a similar role; OR an Advance Diploma / Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution with at least fifteen (15) years’ Hydro/Diesel operational experience in a similar role;
• Comprehensive knowledge in Project Management will be an added advantage;
• A valid Group two (not provisional) driver’s license is mandatory.
