About the Role

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and engineering systems at Fiji Gateway Hotel, ensuring compliance with company standards, health and safety requirements, and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily engineering operations and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Manage repairs and maintenance of hotel facilities, equipment, and essential systems.
• Supervise and develop the Engineering team to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Monitor engineering budgets, inventory, equipment, and maintenance costs.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and facility improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and minimise operational disruptions.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and extend the lifespan of hotel assets.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Trade-certified with a minimum Certificate III in at least one relevant trade.
• At least 2 years’ supervisory experience managing a team of tradespeople.
• Experience working across multiple trades is preferred.
• Sound knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
• Good understanding of preventative maintenance programmes and modern engineering practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant maintenance or project management software
