Housekeeping Supervisor

Plantation Island Resort is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and hands on Housekeeping Supervisor to support the daily operations of our Housekeeping Department and ensure exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and comfort standards across the resort. This role is responsible for supervising housekeeping attendants, maintaining guest accommodation and public areas to the highest standards, and delivering a positive guest experience through efficient and professional service.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day allocation of duties, monitor room cleaning standards, conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas, and provide guidance and support to team members to ensure quality and consistency. The successful candidate will assist with training and coaching staff, manage housekeeping supplies and linen inventories, report maintenance issues, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Working closely with the Housekeeping Manager and other resort departments, the role plays a key part in maintaining the resort's presentation, supporting operational efficiency, and creating a welcoming environment that enhances every guest's stay at Plantation Island Resort.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize housekeeping daily reports to complete Room Attendant daily allocations in a timely manner, noting special requests and early arrivals
• Run daily shift briefing, ensuring effective communication of daily operational needs and answering of team queries
• Monitor Room Attendant workload, re-allocating rooms as required to ensure timely release of vacant clean rooms
• Assist Room Attendants with cleaning of very dirty or rush rooms/bures
• Inspect all rooms/bures prior to release, notifying Room Attendant or Maintenance as issues identified
• Allocate duties to and liaise with Houseman during shift, to ensure the ongoing and timely delivery of linen and other amenities or chemicals/equipment needs to the Room Attendants
• Liaise with Front Office regarding guest arrival times, including prompt servicing of rush rooms/bures
• Liaise with Front Office regarding change in room/bure allocations or out of order rooms/bures due to planned or unexpected maintenance requirements
• Complete daily master key audit to ensure all housekeeping keys accounted for and securely stored
• Provide timely feedback from Room Attendants to senior housekeeping or hotel/resort management, ensuring open and effective communication is maintained at all times
• Assist in monthly stock-take requirements, ensuring accurate counting of all linen and other items
• Arrange treatment for bed bug or other pest infestation found, including scheduling of seasonal spraying needs
• Monitor collection and delivery of guest laundry requirements, handling any queries raised by guests
• Provide first response to guest queries relating to housekeeping
• Complete linen quality control checks, ensuring linen used is of a high standard
• Supervise completion of spring-cleaning tasks including mattress rotation
• Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a commercial cleaning environment, preferably in a hotel or resort
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to supervise and motivate team members
• Attention to detail and good understanding of quality and overall appearance of guest room/bure and public areas
• Excellent communication skills and ability to priorities and re-allocate tasks
• Good understanding of safe chemical handling and storage and implementation of OHS in the workplace
• Working knowledge of Opera is an advantage
