Plantation Island Resort is seeking an energetic, safety-conscious, and guest-focused Watersports Attendant to support the delivery of exceptional recreational experiences for our guests. This role is responsible for facilitating a range of watersports and beach activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, service, and equipment care are always maintained.

The Watersports Attendant will assist guests with activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, snorkelling, and other resort-offered experiences, providing clear instructions and safety briefings to ensure enjoyable and safe participation. The successful candidate will monitor activities, maintain and inspect equipment, assist with activity scheduling and special events, and ensure all watersports facilities and beach areas are clean, organised, and guest ready. Working closely with the Watersports team and other resort departments, the role contributes to creating memorable guest experiences while promoting responsible use of the resort's marine and recreational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests to the Watersports Centre and provide friendly, professional assistance throughout their participation in resort activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive safety briefings and demonstrate the correct use of watersports equipment, ensuring guests understand and comply with all safety procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Assist guests with a variety of watersports activities, including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, snorkelling, and other recreational activities offered by the resort.
  • Monitor guest activities in and around the water to ensure their safety and provide immediate assistance where required.
  • Assess weather, tide, sea, and lagoon conditions on a regular basis and make recommendations regarding activity suitability and operational safety.
  • Inspect, clean, maintain, and securely store all watersports equipment, ensuring it remains in excellent condition and ready for guest use.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, guest participation, maintenance requirements, and any incidents or accidents.
  • Report damaged equipment, safety hazards, incidents, and maintenance concerns promptly to the Watersports Supervisor or Manager.
  • Assist with the setup, coordination, and delivery of guest activities, special events, group bookings, and resort recreational programs.
  • Promote watersports activities and provide guests with information on available experiences, encouraging participation and enhancing their overall stay.
  • Ensure all operational areas, including the beach, watersports centre, storage facilities, and equipment areas, are maintained in a clean, safe, and organised condition.
  • Support environmental and marine conservation initiatives by promoting responsible use of the lagoon and surrounding marine environment.
  • Work closely with other resort departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain the resort's high standards of service.
  • Comply with all resort policies, health and safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and regulatory requirements at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in watersports, tourism, hospitality, or outdoor recreation is preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
  • Strong swimming ability and confidence in open-water environments.
  • Knowledge of watersports equipment and marine safety practices.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
