The School of Law and Social Sciences
The successful candidate will be based in the School of Law and Social Sciences (SoLaSS) which houses disciplines like Law, Psychology, Diplomacy and International Affairs, Sociology, Social Work and History. SoLaSS focuses on producing work ready graduates and its degree programs aim to have impact, relevance and be accessible to students all over the South Pacific. The School encourages collegiality and is invested in the cultivation of a dynamic scholarly community that responds directly to the priorities of the region.
About the Community Legal Practice Centre
The Community Legal Information Centres (CLIC) are an integral part of the Discipline of Law. The Centres are committed to translating the law into accessible information and empowering members of the community to better understand their rights, responsibilities and the legal system.
The Community Legal Practice Centre provides legal information, advice and assistance to members of the community who may be unable to afford private legal services, with a particular focus on civil matters.
The Manager, Community Legal Practice Centre will provide leadership and oversight of the Centre's clinical programmes, while also contributing to teaching within the LLB degree. The role offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical legal education, legal practice, student development and community service.

The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Fiji; and
- Five years of relevant and sustained work experience as a barrister or solicitor in Fiji;
- Have experience managing legal skills training and competitions across and within law departments, substantial post- bodies, NGOs, and community organisations;
- Experience managing legal skills training and competitions within law departments, professional bodies, NGOs and/or community organisations;
- Demonstrated experience providing legal advice and representation to clients from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, together with an understanding of barriers to access to justice in the Pacific contex;
- Proven experience managing a legal, clinical or professional services centre;
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop students;
- Demonstrated knowledge of, or commitment to, clinical legal education principles and practice.
- Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities, including experience with case management systems, reporting and compliance;
- A demonstrated commitment to access to justice and community legal services, including experience working with underserved or vulnerable communities.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
- FJ$81,690 to FJ$100,073 per annum
