The position is responsible for monitoring of financial performances of designated state owned entities to ensure that government as shareholder accrues the maximum benefit from its investments.
The position will achieve its purpose through the following:
1. Providing recommendations on strategies for improvement of Public Enterprises (PEs) performance.
2. Analyzing and monitoring financial & non-financial reports of designated PEs.
3. Carrying out assessment of organisational planning documents including Statements of Corporate Intent and Strategic Plans, and performance reports such as Annual Reports, Audited Financial Statements, Half-Year Reports and monthly financial statements.
4. Preparing briefs, Cabinet Papers and correspondences relating to responsible project.
5. Provide timely analysis on submissions from PEs and draft timely responses to Parliamentary questions and subcommittee requests.
6. Assist in the restructuring process of designated PEs earmarked for reforms.
7. Provide support services to senior management to ensure provision of quality papers, reports and correspondences on a timely basis.
8. Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, including planning, budgeting and selection activities where required.
1. At least 2 years’ experience in analyzing and reporting on economic and/or financial results;
2. Practical knowledge in policy formulation, providing policy advice, and governance to bring about improvement in the entities;
3. Practical working experience in applying research findings and interpreting, apply economic and/or financial models in the assessment of projects; and
4. Understanding of the Fijian Constitution (2013) and applicable laws of Fiji.

2. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in liaising and collaborating with internal and external parties;
3. Demonstrated ability to provide sound policy advice on financial-related matters;

5. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines;
6. Capacity to utilise computer programs to support the operations of the organisation; and
7. Service-oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the operational/corporate environment of the organisation.
