Do you see yourself as a Learning & Development Manager at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa?

Your day to day

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the resort's learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with IHG standards and business goals.
  • Identify training and development needs through performance evaluations, operational reviews, compliance requirements, and consultation with department leaders.
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging training programs for all levels of employees using a variety of learning methods, including classroom training, workshops, on-the-job coaching, demonstrations, and e-learning platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives to ensure they are delivering measurable improvements in employee performance, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the resort's onboarding and orientation programs, ensuring all new colleagues receive a positive introduction to InterContinental and IHG culture.
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports in accordance with IHG standards and compliance requirements.
  • Support the development of leadership capabilities and succession planning through talent development initiatives and career growth opportunities.
  • Develop training materials, presentations, manuals, and other learning resources to support business needs.
  • Partner with department heads to ensure training programs address operational priorities, service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and professional development across the resort.
  • Coordinate internship, attachment, and trainee programs with local and international educational institutions.
  • Provide guidance and information on relevant external development opportunities and professional certifications.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of colleague engagement activities, recognition programs, and team-building initiatives.
  • Ensure all learning and development activities support the resort's commitment to safety, security, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the training budget effectively and promote cost-conscious learning solutions without compromising quality.
  • Uphold and champion IHG's values, service culture, and brand standards while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a Training Manager, Learning & Development Manager, or similar role within hospitality.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience managing training systems, learning platforms, and employee development programs.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training evaluation methodologies.
  • Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with IHG systems and brand standards will be highly regarded.
