Plantation Island Resort is seeking a friendly, energetic, and guest-focused Activities Attendant to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting with the coordination and delivery of daily guest activities, ensuring participants have a fun and memorable experience, and providing exceptional customer service at all times. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for hospitality, recreation, and engaging with guests of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Be fully familiar with all scheduled guest activities in order to handle guest enquiries efficiently

·        Ensure all areas of Kids Club are clean (including outdoor areas) and fully set-up ready for opening prior to scheduled opening time, and ensure the doors are open and the reception desk is manned at opening time

·        Maintain full and current information of all resort services, activities and facilities including kid’s activities, evening entertainment, motorized and non-motorized water sports, adults activities, restaurant options and opening hours and babysitter booking procedures

·        Plan, organize and deliver a range of kids and adults recreational and entertainment activities that are well organized, engaging, enjoyable and safe

·        Retain general knowledge of the history of the Resort, the island, local community (landowners) and the surrounding environment

·        Retain knowledge of the general history of Fiji including Myths and Legends, Fijian culture and traditions, and be able to perform and teach cultural activities such as weaving

·        Ensure that there are sufficient supplies of beach towels available for guest use at all times

·        Issue and receive equipment to guests ensuring to maintain an accurate record of all equipment issued and returned by guests

·        Maintain the pool and surrounding areas and also the beach front in a clean, tidy and attractive condition at all times

·        Arrange all beach and pool chairs and tables neatly and re-set regularly throughout the day after guest use

·        Remove all rubbish, glasses, bottles, etc left around the pool and on the beach-front areas promptly

·        Ensure all resort offered activities that require “Disclaimers” documentation are completed by guests prior to commencing the activity, and filed correctly

·        Ensure all guests receive full safety and equipment operational briefing, prior to commencing activity

·        Ensure all guests are wearing lifejackets when using resort kayaks and sailboats

·        Complete daily check of all lifejackets for wear and tear, removing from use any jackets with rips or tears

 

·        Have a complete understanding of the waterways, depth, currents and tidal times at and around the Resort, or know where to obtain the information promptly

·        Clean, dry and store all beach and marine equipment at the end of the day, ensuring items such as snorkelling equipment are correctly sanitized

·        Maintain all equipment in good condition and ensure that damaged and lost equipment is recorded and accounted for following company procedure

·        Ensure that all flares are clean, dry and contain sufficient fuel before the torch lighting session every evening

·        Liaise with Activities Supervisor or Manager if scheduled activities are delayed for any reason

·        Promptly alert Supervisor/ Manager to any behavioural or medical issues of children attending Kids Club, and immediately locate their parents

·        Comply with Activities policies and standard operating procedures at all times

·        Provide assistance to Events or Food and Beverage with decorations for events and functions as requested

·        Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

 

About You:

·      Excellent communication skills and confidence speaking in a group situation

·      Mind That Child or equivalent qualification

·      Preferably hold a current First Aid/CPR qualification

·      Have a good knowledge of Fijian games, stories and cultural traditions

·      Displays common sense and makes sound decisions

·      Ability to connect with a wide variety of people, including children and teenagers
