Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Plantation Island Resort is seeking an energetic and motivated Activities Supervisor to lead our activities team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role is responsible for coordinating daily recreational activities, supervising team members, ensuring high standards of guest service and safety, and creating engaging programs that enhance the overall holiday experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for hospitality, outdoor recreation, and guest engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Oversee daily operation of Kids Club, ensuring the club is open and ready to go at all advertised opening times daily

·        Oversee provision of daily guest activities per advertised schedule, ensuring all activities run as scheduled and commence on time

·        Contribute to activities program development and weekly schedule, researching new activities to be offered

·        Complete rosters to ensure that adequate staffing levels are maintained to facilitate all scheduled activities and provide the required level of supervision in Kids Club per company guidelines relating to staff to child ratio

·        Manage manning levels, adjusting rosters to account for sickness or absence, ensuring that that operational manning guidelines are adhered to at all times. Alert manager immediately if changes need to be made to advertised schedule due to staff shortage.

·        Liaise with parents regarding child behaviour or medical issues

·        Update Activities Manager and Resort Manager promptly regarding any behaviourial or other issues that parents may raise to management

·        Order supplies and inventory to ensure adequate resources are available at all times for all guest activities

·        Provide hands on support and assistance to Activities team, including coverage of meal breaks and delivery of scheduled activities program

·        Monitor safety equipment and resources, ensuring all required items are in place and in good working condition at all times

·        Provide on the job training and refresher training to maintain and upskills the knowledge and skills of the activities team members

·        Actively monitor guest enjoyment of activities program, identifying opportunities for changes or improvements to the program

·        Monitor staff performance and counsel as necessary, escalating serious performance issues to the manager

·        Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

 

About You:

·        Current Mind That Child qualification

·        Teaching qualification would be useful

·        Current First Aid/CPR qualification

·        Ability to connect with a wide range of guests and children

·        Good judgement and the ability to make sound decisions

·        Previous experience running a guest or recreational activity program is advantageous

·        Excellent communication skills including the confidence to speak in a group situation
