The Manager, Curriculum Review and Development Unit (Manager CRDU) is an important link to the maintenance of a sustainable CRDU and to enhancing The University of the South Pacific's strategic goal of 'providing a high-quality teaching and learning experience and the attainment of graduates' attributes and learning. More specifically, the Manager CRDU will ensure that specific key targets and key performance indicators are achieved and that there is sustained, efficient, and effective delivery of services by the CRDU to the University.
Specific Duties
The appointee will be responsible for those aspects of curriculum-related activities including:
- Overseeing the development and implementation of the University's curriculum policies and guidelines, ensuring they align with the institution's mission and goals.
- Coordinating the curriculum development process, including conducting needs assessments, gathering input from academic units and stakeholders, and overseeing the implementation of approved changes.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the University's curriculum and programmes, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Maintaining a database of all courses and programmes offered by the University, ensuring that they are accurate and up to date.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration among academic units, promoting a coordinated approach to curriculum development.
- Providing training and professional development opportunities for staff on curriculum-related topics, including incentivising practices in learning and teaching.
- Keeping abreast of changes and developments in the field of higher education and incorporating them into the University's curriculum policies and processes as appropriate.
- Establishing a university research profile in the area of curriculum development, implementing and overseeing related research projects.
- Providing regular reports and updates to the senior management team (SMT) and the governing body on the status of the university's curriculum and programmes.
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A degree and a postgraduate qualification in related field with five (5) years of relevant experience and proven management expertise; and
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a tertiary education environment;
- Experience working in a culturally diverse and/or Pacific regional contexts;
- Experience in the management of people and operations requiring execution of multiple complex tasks while responding to multiple priorities;
- Sound understanding of qualification frameworks and qualification accreditation;
- Experience in curriculum-related project management;
- Expertise in curriculum mapping and alignment, including formulation of learning outcomes;
- Expertise in assessment and rubric design;
- Experience in the use of information technology for communication;
- Experience in data analysis and report writing;
Salary Range
- FJ$81,690 to FJ$100,073 per annum
