Class 5 Boat Captain

Kokomo Private Island is seeking an experienced and professional Class 5 Captain to join our Marine Team. This is an exciting opportunity to operate our modern fleet of vessel throughout the spectacular Astrolabe Reef while delivering exceptional experiences for our guests.

The successful applicant will be a confident and engaging skipper with a genuine passion for hospitality and the marine environment. You will have proven experience in luxury guest operations, including game fishing, dive support, and private cruising, with the ability to create memorable experiences through outstanding services and local knowledge. Experience in cultural guising is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

·        Operate and navigate vessels safely in accordance with maritime regulations.

·        Lead and assist guests during game fishing excursions, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience.

·        Provide excellent customer service and engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner.

·        Maintain the vessel and equipment to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.

·        Collaborate with the activities team to enhance guest experiences and promote island activities.

Qualifications:

·        Valid Class 5 master qualification

·        Valid certificate of Medical Fitness for service in the deck department

·        Valid eye sight and colour test certificate/report

·        Valid safety certificate that includes;

Certificate of proficiency in survival craft and recue boats other than fast rescue boats.

Medical First Aid at Sea. S

Advanced Firefighting and control

Personal safety and social responsibilities

·        GMDSS restricted operators’ certificate

·        Valid seafarers’ employment record book (S.E.R.B)

·        Proven experience operating game fishing and cruise vessels up to 24 meters

·        Strong guest service and relationship management experience

·        Professional presentation with a positive, team-oriented attitude
