Serenader

Lomani Island Resort & Spa is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Serenader to join our team and help create memorable guest experiences through music and entertainment. This role is responsible for providing live musical performances that reflect the warmth of Fijian hospitality and enhance the resort’s tranquil and welcoming atmosphere.

The Serenader will perform at guest arrivals, dining venues, special events, and other designated resort functions, ensuring a high standard of entertainment and guest engagement. The successful candidate will have strong musical abilities, a friendly and professional personality, and a passion for sharing the Fijian culture with guests. The ability to interact confidently with guests, work collaboratively with team members, and maintain a positive attitude while delivering exceptional service is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide musical entertainment including singing and playing the guitar or ukulele, as required around the resort to entertain guests and enhance the environment and guest experience
• Retain a wide repertoire of Fijian and popular songs, regularly updating your repertoire to add songs
• Engage with guests to enhance their experience, delivering special request songs, Happy Birthday etc
• Adapt the volume and songs played to the tone of the location you are singing (eg. Arrival vs back-ground music in the restaurant)
• Sing with passion and genuine enjoyment at all times, encouraging guests and other staff to join in where appropriate
•  Be present at key arrival and departure times to sing Bula Malaya and Isa Lei, ensuring a high proportion of guests experience these well-known Fiji traditions
• Provide entertainment at weddings or other in-house events or functions as booked
• Lead staff and guests in recognizing birthdays and other special occasions
• Assist Food & Beverage or Activities team members at peak operational times, in completing basic tasks in these areas such as table clearance or providing additional supervision or leadership of guest activities
•  Take care of your health and voice so that you are able to complete your rostered shifts
• Perform during cultural show and kava ceremony
• Safely care for instruments including secure storage when not in use
• Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

About You:

• Good guitar playing ability, can play solo or as part of a duo or group
• Wide repertoire of Fijian and English traditional and popular songs
• Strong singing voice, able to sing solo or with others
• Good communication skills with ability to connect with guests and entertain
