Commis Chef - Pastry

Kokomo Private Island, Fiji’s premier luxury Island Resort, is seeking an experienced and qualified Commis Chef – Pastry to join our dynamic culinary team, based on Yaukuve Island, Kadavu. Responsibilities:

·        Upgrade and control of food standards in the pastry section.

·        To ensure pastry machines and fridges are operational and cleaned out after each use.

·        To maintain consistency and quality of all cakes and pastries as required.

·        To ensure work area maintains an excellent result of cleanliness at all times.

·        To ensure working techniques and pastry handlings are accurate with no unnecessary wastage.

·        To coordinate and delegate chefs whenever required and area most needed.

·        To ensure all pastries are wrapped, labelled, dated and stored properly before closing shift. No food items are left on the floor.

·        To be cooperative with immediate supervisors and support kitchen operation as required.

·        Need also to assist in set-up and breakdowns of desserts in buffets and functions.

Your Experience:

·        Previous experience as a Commis Chef - Pastry

·        Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while delivering high-quality, creative dishes.

·        Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow within a professional team.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to enhancing the guest dining experience.

Requirements:

·        Holds certificate in Baking and Pastries and Commercial Cookery

·         Valid driver’s license.

·        Proven culinary experience; multi-outlet experience is an advantage.

·         Up-to-date with culinary trends and modern kitchen practices.

·        Ability to share responsibilities, ensure quality control, and maintain cuisine standards at all times.
