Boat Captain

Goolma Ltd which operates Paradise Cove Resort, Blue Lagoon Beach Resort & Octopus Resort is seeking applications for a skilled Boat Captain to join our Marine Operations team to be based at Paradise Cove Resort:

Key Requirements

●      Valid Class 5 Master Certificate, issued in accordance with the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji                (MSAF) regulations

●      Sound knowledge of chartered waters within the Yasawa Islands, including reef systems, tides,               and seasonal weather patterns

●      A minimum of 2 to 3 years' verifiable experience working as a Boat Captain

●      Proven knowledge of and hands-on experience operating 350HP twin-engine vessels

●      Strong understanding of maritime safety procedures, emergency response, and passenger safety            protocols

●      Valid First Aid and Sea Survival certification (or willingness to obtain)

●      Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to guest service excellence

●      Clean record with MSAF and no history of maritime safety violations

Key Responsibilities

●      Safely operate resort vessels for guest transfers, excursions, and charters within the  Yasawa                  Islands

●      Conduct pre-departure safety checks on vessels, engines, and safety equipment

●      Ensure full compliance with MSAF regulations and resort marine safety policies at all times

●      Monitor weather and sea conditions, making sound judgment calls on vessel operations

●      Maintain accurate logbooks, maintenance records, and incident reports

●      Provide excellent guest service and represent the resort in a professional manner

●      Mentor and support junior boat crew as required
