About Us:

Southern Cross Foods is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and specializes in manufacturing production of extruded snacks and confectionery for Fiji and International markets and is also a co-manufacturer of Maggi Noodles for Nestle. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to be based in Ba.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger by accurately processing transactions, updating accounts receivable/payable, and reconciling bank statements.
• Verify and sign off payables vouchers prior to posting into system.
• Closely monitor book close timetable and keep track of pending issues.
• Perform variance analysis to calculate difference between budgeted and actual cost identifying the cost factors.
• Ensure accurate costing is maintained and highlight for any major cost deviations.
• Compilation of monthly management accounts, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Collaborate with leadership to create budget forecasts.
• Supports external and internal audits with accurate records.
• Ensure adherence to tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA is an advantage.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and statutory reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and strict closing cycles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• High precision to detect errors in ledgers and ensure flawless data entry.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Previous work experience in manufacturing industry is an advantage.
