Are you a seasoned blue-water Sailing Captain with transatlantic experience who wants to combine world-class sailing with meaningful impact in one of the most stunning destinations on earth? Paradise Cove Resort Fiji is seeking an experienced Sailing Captain to lead and train our local Fijian Class 6 captains in the safe, professional operation of our luxury charter fleet — starting with our flagship Leopard 48 catamaran. This is a rare opportunity to live and work in the breathtaking Yasawa Islands while elevating local maritime skills to international charter standards.

The Role

You will be the senior captain and trainer for our growing private charter sailing fleet. Your primary mission is to mentor and upskill local Fijian Class 6 captains so they can confidently and professionally sail and operate the Leopard 48 catamaran on multi-day guest charters.

Key Responsibilities

• Command and operate the Leopard 48 catamaran on scheduled and private charters between Paradise Cove Resort, Octopus Resort, and Blue Lagoon Beach Resort.
• Deliver hands-on training and mentoring to local Fijian captains (Class 6 qualified) in all aspects of catamaran sailing, navigation, safety, guest service, and charter operations.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, seamanship, and guest experience on every sailing.
• Plan daily routes, manage crew of three, and ensure smooth hybrid resort-yacht operations (guests enjoy full resort facilities while moored each night).
• Oversee maintenance, provisioning, and compliance with Fiji maritime regulations.
• Contribute to the growth of our premium charter yacht program.

Requirements

• Transatlantic sailing experience (or equivalent extensive blue-water/ocean passage experience) is essential
• Proven track record as a captain on sailing catamarans (Leopard 48 or similar size preferred)
• Current relevant maritime certifications (Master of Yachts, STCW, or equivalent)
• Strong teaching and mentoring skills — experience training junior captains is a big advantage
• Passion for luxury charter service and guest experience
• Excellent safety record and strong leadership presence
• Ability to live and work in a remote island resort environment
