Job Title: Island Maintenance Electrician
Location: Remote Island, Fiji
Roster: 24 Days On / 5 Days Off
Compensation: Base Salary + Accommodation + Meals + Return Flights for Days Off
We are seeking an experienced and self-reliant Maintenance Electrician to manage the critical infrastructure of a remote island property in Fiji. This role requires a hands-on technician capable of maintaining power, water, and marine electrical systems independently without immediate mainland support.
Key Responsibilities
- Power Generation: Monitor, service, and maintain the island’s primary power plant, including diesel generators, switchboards, and distribution lines.
- Water Infrastructure: Oversee the daily operation, electrical troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of reverse osmosis desalination plants.
- Marine Systems: Diagnose and repair basic electrical faults in marine engines, boat electrical systems, and dock infrastructure.
- General Maintenance: Handle everyday electrical repairs for staff housing, commercial facilities, refrigeration, and appliances.
- Asset Inspections: Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure continuous utility operations and avoid system failures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Licensing: Valid Fiji Electrical Wireman’s License or an equivalent recognized trade qualification.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of commercial, industrial, or remote-site electrical experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven proficiency with three-phase power, diesel generators, water treatment equipment, and basic marine electrics.
- Attributes: Strong standalone diagnostic skills, practical problem-solving capability, and suitability for an isolated work environment.
Working Conditions & Benefits
- Schedule: Fixed roster of 24 days on-site followed by 5 days off.
- Transit: Company-funded return flights between the island and the mainland are provided for all rostered days off.
- Provisioning: Full on-island accommodation and all daily meals are provided by the company during the work rotation.
