Assistant Accountant

Role Description:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dynamic Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team based at Tradepac Samoa Marketing Limited, Apia, Samoa. Tradepac Samoa Marketing Limited is an established FMCG distributor of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and part of CJ Patel Group of Companies in Fiji. Reporting to the Accountant, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day
accounting and finance operations of a fast-paced FMCG Sales and Distribution business while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.

• Assist with daily accounting and finance operations.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Support month-end closing and reporting processes.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and customer accounts.
• Support and oversee warehouse operations including stock movement, near expiry etc. and assist with stock and inventory reconciliations.
• Assist with statutory, tax, and compliance requirements.
• Manage cash collection and cash sales reconciliations, etc.
• Support internal and external audit processes.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Experience within FMCG, distribution, retail, or commercial operations is desirable.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Willing to work in Samoa.
