Warehouse & Dispatch Operator

About the role

We are currently seeking a proactive and customer‑focused Warehouse & Dispatch Operator to join our Freight Services team. This hands‑on role is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of cargo within our warehouse operations. You will be involved in container devanning and vanning, cargo preparation, dispatch coordination, and operational documentation, ensuring high service standards and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Deconsolidation and consolidation of import and export containers (FAK, LCL, HMC cargo)
• Loading and unloading of cargo between ports and warehouse facilities
• Safe stacking, palletising, stowage, and movement of cargo within the warehouse
• Operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment (up to 5‑ton capacity)
• Identification, tallying, and sorting of cargo in line with manifests and markings
• Preparation and timely submission of Outturn Reports
• Reporting of cargo discrepancies, damages, or shortages
• Coordination of cargo delivery and dispatch documentation
• Compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures and bonded warehouse requirements
• Active participation in safety practices and Zero Harm initiatives

What You’ll Bring

• Qualifications & Experience: 
  • Vocational qualification in warehouse or logistics operations (preferred)
  • Valid forklift license and material handling equipment certification
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a warehouse, freight, or logistics environment
  • Knowledge of customs bonded warehouse operations is an advantage
• Skills & Attribute:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Safety‑focused mindset with the confidence to stop unsafe work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills (email, MS Office)
  • Good communication and time‑management skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in warehouse and yard environments
