About the Role

The Energy Sales Consultant is responsible for driving revenue growth by managing client relationships, and selling energy solutions (e.g., solar, storage, efficiency, or retail contracts) to commercial, industrial, or residential customers. They bridge the gap between technical teams and customers to provide tailored solutions.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively source, pitch, and close new sales opportunities within the target market.
  • Convert qualified leads into sales through consultative selling techniques.
  • Proactively identify and engage with customers to understand their energy needs and provide tailored solar/battery solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to formalize solutions and create winning proposals.
  • Keep abreast of market fundamentals, energy pricing, and regulatory changes (e.g., RET, NETCC, CEC, STC/LGC markets).
  • Use CRM tools to manage pipelines, maintain accurate records of leads, track customer engagement, and report on sales forecasting.
  • Track, meet and exceed daily, weekly and monthly sales results and KPIs, reporting progress to the Manager.
  • Handle inbound inquiries from new and existing customers, converting interest into sales and service subscriptions.
  • Actively retain customers by offering competitive solutions and providing "win-back" offers.
  • Resolve inquiries on the first contact, delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure all sales comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure timeliness, productivity, and attendance at all times.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 3 years in sales, with 1+ year specifically in the energy industry (renewable energy, solar, energy retail, or engineering services) with a proven track record of hitting targets.
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field (preferred). 
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of energy management systems, renewable technologies (solar/storage), or wholesale market dynamics. 
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, Interpersonal skills, strong negotiation skills, analytical and data-driven skills technical aptitude, and proficiency in Podium or similar CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Core Competencies: Persuasiveness, adaptability, strong time management, sales and relationship management.
  • Strong motivation to achieve or exceed sales targets, handle rejections, KPIs, and call volume metrics. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving working environment.
  • Target driven and Team player.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethics.
