ENGINEERING TEAM VACANCIES AT TOKATOKA RESORT

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Tokatoka Resort is seeking skilled, experienced, and dedicated professionals to join our Engineering & Maintenance team. If you take pride in maintaining high standards, ensuring guest safety, and keeping resort operations running smoothly, we want to hear from you. We are currently seeking candidates for the following positions:

1. ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER

Role: Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department. You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate preventive maintenance programs, manage work orders, and ensure all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate efficiently and safely.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.       
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel or resort   environment.                                                                                                   
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills  
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and contractor relationships.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided facility management systems is an advantage.                

2. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Role: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and equipment throughout the resort. You will ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and respond promptly to guest room and public area electrical issues.

Requirements

  • Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Valid Electrical Practicing License.             
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.                         
  •  Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergency callouts                        

3. REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING (RAC) TECHNICIAN

Role: Maintain, service, and repair air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, chillers, and kitchen cooling equipment across the resort. You will ensure optimal performance of HVAC systems to guarantee guest comfort and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent.       
  • Valid RAC Practicing License or FJC (Fiji Competency) certification           
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in HVAC/R maintenance, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.     
  • Strong knowledge of split systems, central AC units, chillers, and commercial refrigeration.   
  • Ability to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance
  • Familiarity with refrigerant handling and environmental regulations.

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and emergency callouts.
  • Valid Police Clearance Certificate is required prior to employment.
