Factory Manager 

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based at Viti Foods Pte Limited (VFL), a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies. VFL specializes in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Factory Manager to be based at our manufacturing plant in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva. Reporting to the Group General Manager - Manufacturing, the successful candidate will be accountable for but not limited to the following key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage day-to-day factory operations across production, engineering, quality assurance, finance, and administration.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety standards, ISO, and statutory requirements.
• Drive business performance and profitability through effective budgeting, cost control, and achieving EBIT.
• Deliver on production, quality, and on-time customer delivery expectations.
• Oversee workforce management, including rostering, training, performance, and development.
• Monitor and report on operational performance, financial health, and key business metrics to senior management.
• Collaborate with sales, distribution, and support functions to ensure efficient operations and continuous improvement including NPD initiatives.
• Lead process improvements and capacity optimization to support business growth.
• Ensure a strong focus on health, safety, and operational excellence across the plant.

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

• Degree or trade qualification in Engineering, Food Science, Marine Science, or related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years’ managerial experience in manufacturing, preferably in seafood or food processing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, food safety standards, and business operations.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and foster a strong safety culture.
• Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end production operations and meeting quality and output targets.
• Strong commercial acumen with skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
