MACHINE OPERATOR
About us
Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Machine Operator to be based in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva. This role is critical in ensuring efficient machine operation, smooth canning processes, and high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
Role Description:
- Operate and monitor the seaming machine to ensure efficient and continuous production.
- Conduct daily seamer checks using pre-production checklists to ensure machines are fully operational.
- Maintain machine uptime by proactively monitoring performance and responding promptly to jams, faults, or breakdowns.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance.
- Manage lid supply and product headspace to prevent overfilling and ensure consistent product quality.
- Accurately record downtime, machine issues, and production data for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Adhere strictly to safety policies and communication standards to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in fitting and machine, engineer or related field is desirable.
- Previous experience in machine operation, preferably in food processing, canning, or manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of mechanical operations and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to equipment issues.
- Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
Remuneration:
Competitive market-based remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
