What role will you play as a member of the Marketing team?
As the Professional Relations & Public Health Coordinator you will help improve oral health
and wellbeing for communities across 11 Pacific Island (PI) markets. This role focuses on
building strong relationships with universities, health professionals, community partners,
and public health stakeholders to support practical, community-based oral health initiatives.
You will help design and deliver engaging education, coordinate outreach programs, and
support evidence-informed public health reports that promote oral health equity. The ideal
candidate has a dental or oral health background and is passionate about working with
communities, students, and partners to improve population-level health outcomes.

What you will do
Academic Engagement & Professional Education
• Network Coordination: Support and coordinate Colgate’s professional education activities across Fiji    and the Pacific Islands, ensuring they are relevant and community-focused.

• Educator Support: Work with the Colgate Professional Educator Network, offering regular updates, coaching, and support so educators feel confident sharing current oral health information and product knowledge.

• Teaching & Guest Sessions: Deliver accessible, practice-oriented sessions for dental, oral health, dental hygiene, and pharmacy students, as well as academic staff, with a focus on real-world public health and community applications.

• Learning Materials: Develop and refresh user-friendly, evidence-informed learning materials and  resources that reflect current literature, public health guidance, and Colgate’s oral care range.

• University Partnerships: Help strengthen partnerships with universities, including the FNU hub, through joint projects, student development activities, funding agreements, student prizes, and graduation support, with an emphasis on community impact.

Public Health Strategy & Community Engagement
• Program Delivery: Lead and grow community-based oral health promotion initiatives, including full management of the Bright Smiles, Bright Future (BSBF) program, which distributes over 500,000 kits annually, ensuring activities are inclusive and reach underserved groups.

• Community Insights: Use public health data and community feedback to help shape targeted oral health activities for underserved or at-risk populations, in collaboration with local partners.

• Project Support: Support implementation and training for fluoride varnish and other oral health programs, working closely with public health and community teams.

• Advocacy & Awareness: Contribute to simple, clear advocacy materials and briefing documents that support oral health policy discussions and raise awareness of oral health as part of overall wellbeing.

Scientific Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
• Professional Community Leadership: Help convene and engage a regional network of over 150 dental  professionals, encouraging collaboration, shared learning, and community-focused practice.

• Events & Meetings: Coordinate Colgate’s participation in professional and public health events, CPD activities, and conferences, including basic logistics, funding requests, and liaison with internal teams.

• Representation: Represent Colgate at key public health and professional events (at least three annually) by giving practical, audience-friendly presentations or welcome remarks that highlight community impact and partnership.

• Relationships & Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional associations, and public health partners to support shared oral health goals and initiatives.

Cross-functional Collaboration 
• Internal Capacity Building: Provide oral health and public health insights to sales and marketing teams so that messaging and programs remain accurate, ethical, and aligned with community needs.

• Practical Oral Health Guidance: Offer practical, patient- and community-centered guidance to the Professional Oral Care team and other internal stakeholders as needed.

• Alignment & Integrity: Work closely with marketing, regulatory, and legal teams to ensure all educational and program materials are aligned, responsible, and suitable for local communities.
