About the Company:
Viti Foods Pte Limited (VFL) is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies that specializes in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. VFL seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer – Purchasing & Payables to join our Finance team based at Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.
Role Description:
Reporting to the Accountant, the successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial transactions relating to creditors, payments, and supplier accounts, while ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial records.
- Ensure creditor payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process and reconcile local and overseas creditor accounts.
- Capture and process supplier invoices, including preparation of weekly and month-end supplier payments.
- Prepare and post journal entries and raise Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) as required.
- Attend to supplier queries and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations during the month-end closing process.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing relevant documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation in line with company policies.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounts payable or finance role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive work approach.
- Computer literate, with good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
